Point of view and characters

This story is told in first-person by Montag who is the main character.

Guy Montag: The main character, is a fireman that's job is to burn books that are banned and to burn down houses when they are "issued to be burned." He is very smart and a free thinker. Even though they are illegal, he stashes books for him to read. He has a wife named Mildred Montag. He is a free thinker and somewhat believes that books aren't as bad as everyone says.

Clarisse McClellan: A 17 year old Bohemian girl that is very talkative. She is not a violent person and very curious.  She is a kind of odd ball of the group. She does things that most girls don't do in their spare time like hiking and messing with flowers. She becomes real close to Montag and she becomes his best friend.

Professor Faber: He is one of Montag's mentors. He teaches Montag that there is more to life than books, how you don't need books to learn. How they just are a record of life.

Captain Beatty: Chief Fireman at the same fire dept. that Montag works at. He burns books but he knows more about them than anyone. He is kind of a mind reader and almost always knows what Montag is thinking.

Granger:
He is The leader of the Book People and has a strong will. He is very intelligent and patient. He helps Montag when he evades to the country.
